Voices for South Carolina's Children Children's fund of South Carolina Art-A-Must FTD Wristband

Home visitation has been identified through continuing research as an effective tool for preventing child maltreatment, as well as other poor outcomes for children.

Parent Aides serve as professionally trained home visitors who work one-on-one with families. Parent Aides teach parents to be more loving and attentive to the needs of their children. Our main objectives are to reduce the harmful effects of family crises, to provide appropriate alternatives for conflict resolution, to increase knowledge of ages/stages of child growth and development of age appropriate behavior techniques, to provide linkage to appropriate community support resources and empower client participation, and to reduce the need for out-of-home placement of children.

The Parent Aides Program targets parents who are experiencing difficulties in their parenting roles and need supportive assistance. There are no income requirements in order to participate in the program. Our in-home visitors provide support and crisis intervention.
