Voices for South Carolina's Children Children's fund of South Carolina Art-A-Must FTD Wristband

Prevent Child Abuse South Carolina (PCASC) was established in Columbia, SC in 1975 as the Council on Child Abuse and Neglect following the death of a 2-year-old child who was beaten to death by his mother’s boyfriend. Through the efforts of the Richland County Legal Auxiliary and other concerned citizen groups, the organization was incorporated as a not-for-profit agency committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect through education, intervention and treatment. After more than 20 years of being South Carolina’s leader in child abuse prevention, The Council on Child Abuse and Neglect was chartered as the state chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, thus the organizational name becoming Prevent Child Abuse South Carolina. As a state organization, PCASC provides education and training, public awareness, advocacy and technical assistance in program development.
